NEW YORK (AP) A California woman who wrongly accused a Black teen of taking her phone at a New York City hotel late last year and grabbed at him as he tried to leave is now charged with a hate crime.

NEW YORK (AP) - A California woman who wrongly accused a Black teen of taking her phone at a New York City hotel late last year and grabbed at him as he tried to leave now faces hate crime charges.
Miya Ponsetto was arraigned in court in Manhattan via videoconference Wednesday on charges including unlawful imprisonment as a hate crime, aggravated harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

NUEVA YORK - Maya Ponsetto, la mujer de California que acusó falstamente a un joven negro de robar su teléfono en un hotel de Nueva York a finales del año pasado, está ahora acusada de un delito de odio.
Ponsetto compareció el miércoles ante el tribunal de Manhattan por videoconferencia y se declaró inocente de los cargos que se le imputan, entre ellos el de privación ilegal de libertad como delito de odio, el de acoso con agravantes y el de poner en peligro el bienestar de un niño.
