Amidst rains in drought-stricken regions in eastern Africa, church leaders and relief agencies are warning the situation is still precarious and the people will need food aid during the next months.

They say that much more ambition from governments is needed to make COP27 a success.
“Love your neighbor as yourself, there is no commandment greater than this,” said Anglican Bishop Emmanuel Murye Modi of the Episcopal Diocese of Kajo-Keji, as his congregation was joined by the Lutheran World Federation General Secretary, Rev. Anne Burghardt.
