If you have been wanting to get a COVID-19 vaccination, but didn’t have transportation to Williamsburg or London, then you may be in luck. In an effort to help get more people vaccinated against COVID-19 in underserved areas, some mobile vaccination sites are coming to the local area this week and offering free vaccinations. A mobile vaccination van will be at the following locations on the following dates: • New Salem Baptist Church in London on Tuesday, June 1. It is located at 2182 N. Laurel Road, London. • Firestone Industrial Products in Williamsburg on Tuesday, June 1, and Wednesday, June 2. • Wasioto Winds Pro Shop at Pine Mountain State Resort Park on Thursday, June 3. It is located at 1050 State Park Road, Pineville.

A mobile vaccination van will be at Cumberland Falls State Park on Thursday, May 27. The park has an address of 7351 Highway 90, Corbin. A mobile vaccination van will also be at First Baptist Church in East Bernstadt on Friday, May 28. The church has an address of 226 School Street, East Bernstadt.

In an effort to help get people vaccinated for COVID-19 in under served areas, some mobile vaccination sites are coming to the local area this week to provide free vaccinations. The project is a joint effort involving the Kentucky Health Department, its contractor, Wild Health, Kentucky Emergency Management, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which is managing a vaccination site in London. A mobile vaccination van will be at Firestone Industrial Projects in Williamsburg on Tuesday, May 11, and Wednesday, May 12. The vaccination event is open to the public. A mobile vaccination van will also be at Canadatown Community Fellowship on Saturday, May 15. It is located at 95 Log Cabin Road, Williamsburg.

Power couple nears milestone: Groom turns 100 this week, bride to reach 100 in July

Ross and Ruby Simpson have been married for 75 years. Ross will turn 100 this week. But together, the two have accomplished even more. Ashlander Ross Simpson, who was the youngest master plumber in the state at 19, joined the U.S. Marines and, after basic training in the early 1940s, was sent to Chicago to learn mechanical engineering, daughter Gale Barton said. He was part of the U.S. military s island-hopping strategy in the Pacific, in which troops took over an island and established a military base there. Barton said Simpson worked on airplanes.
