Black Hawks Fought Hard Against The Fighting Saints-Lose 4-1 Friday Night
Waterloo battled Dubuque hard for 59 minutes only to come up short at the end suffering a 4-1 loss to the Fighting Saints on Friday night at Young Arena.
Dubuque scored twice in the 1st period and that was all the offense they would need. The Fighting Saints Ian Pierce and Max Burkholder put the visiting team up 2-0. According the team s game recap, then it was Waterloo s turn, as the Black Hawks’ top scoring defenseman, David Gucciardi, also found the net in the period. Ryan O’Hara came out of traffic near the Saints blue line and found Gucciardi trailing that play; Gucciardi put his shot from the left circle under the crossbar less than a minute after the Saints’ 2nd goal.
