This Whangapoua bach is one out of the box - here s what architect George Clarke had to say about the hut on sleds on Amazing Spaces.

But the wee bach designed by multi award-winning architect Ken Crosson attracted unprecedented interest when it was listed for sale last month. And it sold at auction this week for $2.6 million. Listing agent Lea Jurkovich from Bayleys Whitianga says the bach, which can be completely closed up like a box, was sold to a New Zealand family.

Stuff we get to see the very best of the new baches, and, yes, a couple could more rightly be called beach houses. But they all have much in common with those character baches of yesteryear.
