Two separate videos surfaced, both showing the owners of horse mules subjecting the innocent animals to inhale cigarette smoke through their nostrils. The Rudraprayag police swiftly responded to the distressing footage and initiated an investigation. After careful examination, they identified one of the videos as originating from Tharu Camp in Choti Lancholi, a stopping place for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra in the Rudraprayag district.

FIR against horse operator for forcing mule to smoke cigarette through nostrils on Kedarnath yatra route

In the viral video, two people are seen overpowering the animal and putting a cigarette butt inside one of the nostrils, so that the mule inhales the smoke. It is suspected that the same was done to ensure the mule can carry more weight.

Ten lakh pilgrims have visited Kedarnath since April 25: Uttarakhand Govt

"Since the opening of the doors of Kedarnath Dham, ten lakh pilgrims have visited till now. This time an increase of 18 to 20 per cent has been recorded in the number of passengers as compared to the previous yatra. Every day 15 to 16 thousand pilgrims are visiting Kedarnath," DM Mayur Dixit said.
