Relish Food & Wine Festival is back for 2021.
Fraser Coast Tourism & Events confirmed that after a covid-forced hiatus last year, there was a sense of excitement around the festival and chance to experience updated new trends, recipes and blends.
Held in the Mary River Parklands on Saturday, June, 5 festivalgoers are encouraged to indulge in food and beverage matching sessions, listen to leading foodies as they share the fruits of their labour, and learn from talented chefs who ensure the unmistakeable stamp of the region in every dish.
Along with amazing food and wine, attendees will be transported back to old Maryborough with lessons on high tea etiquette from Miss Etiquette, unforgettable stories of Bond Store’s past (heard while sipping a tipple of port) and behind the scenes access with Odyssey Bistro’s team, revealing the stories behind their food and drinks.

A program that helps Dallas students attend college for free is struggling to keep them on track
More students are choosing work over school as the pandemic strains finances.
The Dallas County Promise, a program that helps put Dallas students through college for free, helped students like Crystal Garza, 19, figure out whether she wanted to go to community college or a four-year university. But the program is struggling as the number of students that take its pledge and enroll in college drop during the pandemic.(Lawrence Jenkins )
Crystal Garza, 19, was unsure about what life would look like for her after high school, and the pandemic made deciding on college even harder.
The activists are involved in the campaign to save Willow Grove and support the CFMEU green ban. “We pledge to join with other residents in putting our bodies in front of bulldozers if needs be to save this piece of Parramatta’s heritage,” James said.
The ticket is calling on the City of Parramatta to declare a climate emergency and commit to becoming a zero emissions council by 2030. They also want the council to initiate consultation with local First Nations’ elders about how to mark Invasion Day in the local government area.
Social and economic pressures are bearing down on Parramatta residents, especially during the pandemic. The Community Need Not Corporate Greed ticket wants council to initiate programs to house the homeless in vacant dwellings, expand public housing projects and mandate low-income housing in all new developments.
