In the summer going into ninth grade, Meredith Chapman showed up to a Duke lacrosse camp with a borrowed stick in her hands and no experience playing the sport. Less than a decade later, she leads #7 Virginia (8-7) in groundballs (34) and caused turnovers (24) and is fifth with 25 draw controls.
Chapman began her lacrosse journey on the junior varsity team at her high school and on the lowest level Carolina Fever team. Although she was years behind most of her teammates, she worked extremely hard and just a year later, as a sophomore, she was on the varsity squad and the highest-level Carolina Fever team.
