SEARSPORT Dorothy Ada Thompson, 95, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her loving family, on December 7, 2020 at her home in Searsport.
Dot was born on December 1, 1925, in Waltham, Massachusetts. Her childhood was spent outside of Boston in many different towns. Dot attended The University of New Hampshire where she earned a bachelor s degree in mathematics. She was intelligent and had the privilege to work on the first computers at MIT.
In between teaching, she loved to go on adventures of hiking, camping, canoeing and road trips. One of her favorite memories of traveling was when she biked all over Europe on her 3-speed bike, wearing a skirt in the late 50s.
