Easing restrictions on outdoor masking and travel into Maine, as well as increasing vaccination rates, have given the tourism industry a much-needed boost following a 2020 season which saw 27% fewer visitors.

There were 155 respondents to a recent Maine Tourism Association survey that asked: How is business looking for Memorial Day weekend compared to a normal year?
Better than a normal year: 21.4%
75-100% of a normal year: 25.5%
50-74% of a normal year: 22.8%
25-49% of a normal year: 6.9%
