ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan says the PTI government has nothing to do with the Broadsheet issue, as General (R) Pervez Musharraf had signed the contract and later backtracked on it unilaterally by giving an NRO to PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
He was talking to a private television channel during his visit to North Waziristan on Wednesday, which was aired Friday night.
Imran said the government had formed a ministerial committee comprising judges and lawyers to investigate the case and suggest ways to bring back the looted public money from abroad.
He said the government had to pay $28.7 million in damages to Broadsheet or face daily markup of 5,000 pounds (1100,000 Pak rupees). He also quoted a State Department’s report on annual money laundering of $10 billion, which made $200 billion during last 20 years.

The government, in order to facilitate the foreign investment companies, was also taking various measures under one-window operation and the policy of ease of doing business, he added.
The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Dhabi Group which led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tanvir Hussain Awan called on him here.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday met the founding team of popular Turkish drama serial Ertugrul led by Kemal Tekden, opining that the Pakistani entertainment industry should take inspiration from the famous Turkish show.
“If the Pakistani film and drama industry presents quality local production, it will not only progress but also provide the youth with an alternative of substandard and glamourised content, which will be welcomed like that in the case of Ertugrul,” the premier said.

The meeting discussed in detail the proposed television series on the famous Kardad Turk Lala.
Several ministers and personalities from the Turkish and Pakistani film industry attended the meeting.
