The Swap Shop has been closed since March of 2020, when the lockdown first began in New Hampshire, and has been closed since. “We’re waiting for the final lifting off all restrictions in the state,” Select Board Chair Karl Pruter said of the decision on Thursday. “We’re finding there continue to be arguments, and people still have issues surrounding masks.” While Gov. Chris Sununu has lifted the mask mandate for the state of New Hampshire, guidance still recommends the use of masks, particularly among those who have not completed the vaccination process. Monadnock Ledger-Transcript Published: 5/13/2021 1:46:54 PM The Jaffrey and Rindge Select Boards came together this week to float several ideas to allow Rindge residents access to parking at Contoocook Beach. Last year, the Jaffrey Select Board and Recreation Department began to explore a parking pass for out-of-town residents, after the beach was inundated with out-of-state visitors. In the process, the deed for the parking lot was reviewed, and the board discovered the restrictions on the gift of the land required the parking remain free and for Jaffrey residents only. The board expects to start enforcing that restriction this year. Town Administrator Jon Frederick told the Rindge Select Board it is the intent to start enforcement after Memorial Day weekend, and to have a period of public education and issuing warnings before implementing tickets and fines, and towing for repeat offenders.
