It’s International Women’s Day. A day to celebrate women’s achievements. A day which male politicians will inevitably make about themselves.
This year’s theme is “Choose to Challenge”: choose to challenge gender bias, gender inequality and men saying dumb things. Australian women have done spectacularly well at calling out the crap in recent months.

Amid growing debate over what many have described as a toxic culture for women working in Parliament House, questions are being raised about how other Australian workplaces are handling reports of sexual harassment and assault.
Ms Higgins has called for major changes to the way complaints about alleged misconduct at Parliament House are handled, saying she felt like she had to choose between making a formal complaint and keeping her job.

The Arkansas Center for the Book at the Arkansas State Library will present a conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Jericho Brown about his book, “The Tradition.” Jo McDougall, Poet Laureate of Arkansas, will also take part in the conversation.
The conversation with Brown and McDougall will be presented live via Zoom on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. To participate, people can fill out the registration form on the Arkansas State Library’s website. Registered participants will be sent a Zoom link the day before the program. The program will also be live-streamed on Arkansas State Library’s YouTube page.
