Finally, Bafana Bafana has a new boss, as expected. His name is Hugo Broos from Belgium. Typical of South Africa, he already has a nickname – Fa-Fa. Consistent with our well-known trance and hypnotism, many have already said: he is well-qualified , he must rebuild , and let us give him a chance . Those are the three things we have been saying for every coach of Bafana – indeed an extraordinary feat of a trance.
Although Broos has reportedly signed a five-year contract, the average lifespan of a Bafana coach has been two years in the past 15 years. In my previous article, I suggested that we rather take six years’ (that is three AFCONs and two World Cups) leave of absence, I will be the first one to wish the new coach all the success in the world. After all, as a true patriot, I want Bafana to return to glory days.

Dr Temitope Hussein revealed this to newsmen on Saturday, NAN reports.
Hussein said the strike was to protest the non-payment of January, February, March and April salaries of some members of the association.
He claimed the association was protesting other issues which include the non-enrolment of some members into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS.
“Some of our members are yet to be paid their four months salary.
“These are people that have families to feed and knowing how hard things are currently in the country nobody’s salary should be withheld.
“We are also protesting against the non-enrolment of some members into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS which was affecting payment of their emoluments,” he said.

Katsina Emirate Council has announced the suspension of the District Head of Kankara LGA for having ties with bandits operating in his territory.
The Secretary of the Emirate Council, Alhaji Mamman Ifo, disclosed the suspension of the Kankara district head, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal to BBC (Hausa) in an interview yesterday.
He said the emirate council took the decision following reports and complaints from security agencies and some residents of the district.
He also disclosed that the emirate has constituted a committee to investigate the allegation thoroughly.
In a similar development, Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara also announced the suspension of Badarawa District Head of Shinkafi Emirate Council, Alhaji Surajo Namakkah, for conferring traditional title on a military officer arrested for allegedly selling ammunition to bandits in Zamfara State.
