An eight-year-old boy was kidnapped, raped and murdered by his elder brother in Lahore s Kamahan, the police said on Friday.
The police found the body of the child in a canal near the Ashiana Interchange. During investigations, the victim s brother confessed to the crime. He said he had killed another child as well, an investigating officer said. The body of the second child, believed to be the victim s friend, has not been found yet.

By coronavirus raising the toll in Punjab to 3,558, the government has imposed smart lockdown in more areas of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujarat, Gujranwala and Hafizabad in view of increasing cases of the disease.
At least 584 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the province on Saturday, raising the total number to 130,706. According to Secretary of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman, smart lockdown is being imposed in areas where the number of people testing positive for novel coronavirus is higher. He said the lockdown has been imposed in 22 areas of Lahore, nine of Rawalpindi, four of Gujranwala, three of Gujrat and two areas of Hafizabad.

LAHORE : The Punjab government has extended smart lockdown in six cities till December 31 in hotspot areas with maximum emergence of Covid-19 cases amidst rising second wave of coronavirus in the province.
According to separate notifications issued by Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), Punjab, on Saturday, the smart lockdown has been imposed in hotspot areas of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Hafizabad. The smart lockdown is imposed in 22 hotspot areas in five towns of district Lahore including Samanabad Town, Aziz Bhatti Town, Nishtar Town, Allama lqbal Town and Cantt areas.
