Hyderabad: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday sought a detailed report from the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) on the ongoing controversy over the injustice meted out to Telangana state students in MBBS admissions.
The Governor met university vice chancellor Dr B.Karunakar Reddy at Raj Bhavan in the evening and discussed the complaints she received against the faulty admission process which left local students in the lurch. The Governor’s move comes at a time when the government and the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party are maintaining a stoic

As per the admission rules, 15% seats in each college are declared unreserved and the remaining 85% are reserved exclusively for local pupil

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday directed the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences to allow another NEET ranker for the phase-2 counselling into first year MBBS course.
The court had already given directions with regard to one ranker on Monday. A division bench comprising Justices M.S. Ramachandra Rao and T. Amarnath Goud gave the interim direction in this regard based on the plea of the rankers that they were denied opportunity to participate in the phase-2 counselling following their admission in Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, a state-wide institute, where Telangana state has specific quota for 10 years after bifurcation.

Hyderabad: Scores of students belonging to Telangana state have been denied an opportunity to participate in the second phase of counselling for admission into the first year MBBS by the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS).
These students were allotted seats under the convener quota in the first phase but were barred from the second phase as they had joined Siddhartha Medical College (SMC), Vijayawada, a ‘statewide institution’ in which students from the three regions of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh were allotted seats as per the quota fixed in the Presidential Order.

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government issued orders on Tuesday, directing the management of private medical colleges not to increase the fees under the Management quota. The government has said that it was not correct to increase the fees keeping in view the Covid-19 pandemic.
This decision was announced after the Telangana State Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee asked the Government to fix the fee structure for MBBS and BDS courses. The State Government decided to retain the existing fees for the undergraduate classes in the private medical and dental colleges in the State. This will apply to all the private unaided non-minority medical and dental colleges for the academic year 2020-21.
