Birds with big brains may respond to climate change better than birds with smaller brains. But this doesn't mean "brainy birds are going to do just fine."
Birds migrating to and from North America are getting smaller since has temperature risen over the past 40 years. According to new research, the sizes of birds with smaller brains reduce more than those with bigger brains. This is the first time cognition and animal response is associated with human-induced climate change.
A new study has revealed that North American migratory birds appear to be shrinking in response to climate change. However, birds with bigger brains, relative to their body size, are not shrinking as much as their smaller-brained counterparts.
