The Supreme Court on Friday lifted the stay imposed by Meghalaya High Court on a memorandum of understanding between Assam and Meghalaya with respect to demarcation of physical land boundaries between the two States.
The Meghalaya High Court has ordered an interim stay on physical demarcation or erection of boundary posts on the ground in connection with an interstate border pact signed by chief ministers of Assam and Meghalaya earlier this year.
The respondents were directed to facilitate within a week counselling for the petitioner, a medical student aspirant of the NEIGRIHMS, and consider her admission against a vacant seat on merits
