The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has disclosed that the Supreme Court presently has the fewest Justices in Nigerian history. The CJN made the revelation at the retirement ceremony of Justice Musa Dattijo Mohammed, who had achieved the obligatory retirement age of 70 years. According to him, the Supreme Court has only 10 Justices on its bench to deal with the overwhelming volume of outstanding cases. Ariwoola, however, assured that the Supreme Court is making efforts to elevate a sizeable Justices to the bench of the Court.
