Barry Kloogh had a penchant for European cars, but they were later seized after he was investigated for fraud. Kloogh s end sentence was not far off that of fraudster David Ross, who was jailed in 2013 for 10 years and 10 months for his role in a $115m Ponzi scheme that ripped off more than 700 investors. Kloogh’s lawyer argued he was cooperative with authorities, which included handing over laptops. He had also been cooperative while serving time in prison, providing information that would potentially help authorities close the loopholes he had exploited, the court heard.
