Earlier this month a Police Officer named chris green in east liverpool, ohio, had a near fatal fentanyl overdose following a routine traffic stop. He went up to a car and noticed there was white powder spread around the car. He put on his mask and gloves, arrested some individuals, went back to the police station, and noticed that on his shirt there was some powder. Conversations about the best way to secure the Southern Land border have been the focus of media, congress and the administration for the last months. Today i want to transition to an equally important by overlooked part of our Border Security, visa overstays. Dhs released the 2016 overstay numbers and this year they expanded the number of categories to include students and other nonimmigrant visa holders. I want to commend dcs but the numbers are stark.
