Cuba province starts sugar harvest with high efficiency
Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, Dec 27 (Prensa Latina) Sancti Spiritus province, leader in fulfilling Cuba s 2019 sugar production, began the 2020-2021 harvest early Sunday in the Uruguay sugar mill, one of the most efficient facilities in Cuba.
Aselio Sanchez, AZCUBA Sugar Group director in this central province, explained that this strategy is part of the rescheduling of this season in the country to take advantage of the benefits of climate and sugarcane maturity.
AZCUBA Sugar Group president Julio Andres Garcia recently informed to the Cuban Parliament that the production plan for the current campaign is 1.2 million tons, a figure slightly higher than the previous one, with 38 sugar mills involved in milling.
