âI did not notice rude graffiti,â says election candidate An election candidate renowned for producing some ‘entertaining’ election campaign videos said he did not realise there was rude graffiti at the end of his latest release. Altaf Patel known to many in the area as Tiger Patel released a campaign video ahead of the local elections in Blackburn with Darwen. He is standing for the Conservative Party in the Audley and Queens Park Ward in the borough. In the video, which was shared first this afternoon, he can be seen walking to the ‘Tabdeeli Ayi Re’ song made famous during Imran Khan’s Pakistan election campaign.

Livesey Branch Road in Blackburn LIVESEY Parish Council in Blackburn is to have a rare contested election after the late nomination of an Independent candidate. For many years there has been no need for voters to go to the polling station to select who sits on it as the number of candidates equalled the number of seats. But this year after the Conservatives nominated eight candidates to fill the eight posts, Independent Joanne Croasdale put her name forward requiring an election at a cost £2,500. Attempts by the Tories to withdraw one of their candidates failed and now the poll will go ahead on May 6.
