Rowley Regis dog suffering case among latest court hearings

A man who swung a Staffordshire Bull Terrier by the neck has been ordered to pay £230 after he admitted causing unnecessary suffering. Wayne Warren Collins, aged 49, of Oldbury Road, Rowley Regis, was also ordered to carry out 180 hours unpaid work. Other recent cases at the local magistrates courts included: An Oldbury woman has been issued with a restraining order and given a suspended jail sentence after admitting harassing a man with persistent calls and voice messages on his mobile phone. Standhor Khan, aged 50, of Newbury Lane, Sandwell, also admitted driving while disqualified and was in breach of a community order imposed for failing to provide a breath test. She was sentenced to a total of 24 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and put on a supervision order to undergo mental health treatment. She was ordered to pay £1,563 in costs.
