A Richland man was sentenced to 40 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of child exploitation.
Bubba Bramlett Jr., district attorney for Madison and Rankin counties, announced Thursday that Michael Eugene Farmer, 45, will serve all of his time in prison. Farmer will also have to register as a sex offender and is ordered to have no contact with his victims.
Richland police arrested Farmer in April 2019 after they received a complaint that Farmer was sexually assaulting a child. Police also found child pornography on Farmer s electronic devices with images of two separate children, including the victim, according to the release.
