A Dunkirk man who was in Pennsylvania is in custody and has been charged in a pair of March stabbings.
Dunkirk city Police Chief David Ortolano announced Friday that following an investigation by the department and the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office, Jose Rivera-Perez, 31, was arrested and taken into custody on a felony warrant charging him with first-degree assault in connection with the incident.
According to reports, the first stabbing described by Chautauqua County dispatch as a male, was located around 7:40 p.m. in the area of Park Avenue and East Sixth Street. The second victim, located about 10 minutes later, was found nearby in the area of Deer Street.

DUNKIRK, N.Y. A Dunkirk man is facing charges in connection with a stabbing that happened March 11, 2021.
Jose Rivera-Perez, 31, is charged with assault in the first degree.
Dunkirk Police say Rivera-Perez, who was in Pennsylvania, waived extradition and was taken to Dunkirk Police before being arraigned in Dunkirk City Court.
Rivera-Perez was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail with bail set at $150,000 cash or $300,000 bond.
