Die beskuldigdes het ses mans op 10 Desember 2014 in Wallacedene ontvoer. Die ses – Zola Gayiya, Emanuel Barnes, Sandile Ngxabela, Sakhele Ngxabela, Lulama Dunga en Mhlanganisi Mljanjeni – is daarvan beskuldig dat hulle Tsutsutsu Ntsundu beroof en vermoor het. Ntsundu, van Engcobo in die Oos-Kaap, was ’n veiligheidswag. Hy is vir sy vuurwapen geteiken. Hy was die homeboy van die beskuldigdes. Hulle het besluit om die wet in eie hande te neem en het die jong mans ontvoer en na ’n veld in Joostenbergvlakte, Kraaifontein, geneem waar hulle gelem, gestenig en dood agtergelaat is. Hul lyke is ontdek met hul hande en voete vasgebind.

Provincial police commissioner, Lt-Gen Thembisile Patekile, commended the efforts of the investigating officers and the prosecution team for their role in securing the hefty sentence handed down in the Cape high court on Wednesday.

cornel van heerden A group of vigilantes have been sentenced to lengthy imprisonment terms for the murder of six men. The six men were killed in 2014 on a farm in Joostenbergvlakte, Kraaifontein. The ringleader was jailed after entering into a plea agreement with the State in 2017. Zola Gayiya, Emanuel Barnes, Sandile Ngxabela, Sakhele Ngxabela, Lulama Dunga and Mhlanganisi Mljanjeni were kidnapped in Wallacedene, Kraaifontein. The suspects, aged between 25 and 56, stoned, stabbed and sjambokked the victims after suspecting [that they were] responsible for the death of a security guard, according to police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk. On Wednesday, Judge Chantal Fortuin sentenced them after they were found guilty of kidnapping and murder.
