According to a Facebook post from the Jones County Sheriff s Office, the suspect, 26-year-old Jeremy Xavier Butts, has been arrested by US Marshals in El Paso, Texas. -
The Jones County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating a man wanted in the fatal shooting of a woman at a party in Gordon.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect is 26-year-old Jeremy Butts, of Milledgeville.
They say Butts was flown out of state immediately after the shooting, and are asking anyone with information to call police.

GRAY, Ga. - A disgraced Georgia cemetery owner began serving his prison sentence after admitting he stole from people who thought they were pre-paying for their funeral needs.
Jerry Bridges, 77, pled guilty in November on 43 counts related to theft and fraud. The allegations involve $216,000 in missing money originally paid to Bridges for future funerals, burials, and perpetual care of gravesites.
“That just boiled me,” said Mike Bryant, who’s 93-year-old mother paid Bridges $4,000. “I couldn’t see how anybody could do that.”
