Lothar F. Herrlett, age 86, of Gloversville, passed away Saturday evening, January 16, 2021, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
He was born May 22, 1934, in Dortmund, Germany, the son of the late Arthur and Irmgard Goglin Herrlett. He came to this country in 1954 and five short years later he started his own business, Herrl Woodcraft, where he was owner and operator for 60 years until his retirement in 2017, to take care of his loving wife, Johann.
Lothar enjoyed music in which he was in a band, The Continentals. He enjoyed taking his motorcycle out and riding around the lake. He loved his family immensely and enjoyed having family gatherings. He enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, in fact, he would go every Thursday to dinner for the last 10 years to Sam’s. Lewis Lee “Teddy” Luft, age 74, of Johnstown, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.
Teddy was born on September 21, 1946, in Gloversville, a son of the late Lewis and Anna Latza Luft.
Teddy was a Class of 1964 graduate of Johnstown High School. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and later the Army National Guard. Teddy owned and operated General Hydraulics in Johnstown for many years until his retirement.
Teddy enjoyed many things in life. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed going to the casino. His most favorite pastime was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved being around people and always made them laugh. Teddy was a member of the Johnstown Moose, Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club and Midnight Movers Snowmobile Club. He also raced for many years at Fonda Speedway.
