president trump has frequently lashed out against what he calls fake news, but a new article suggests he may have fallen for misinformation numerous times, and this details how people with access to it the oval office often slip him articles in an attempt to sway his opinion. they are not always the best sources though, like a time magazine cover supposedly from the 1970s warning of a coming ice age, and another time magazine from 2008 talks about surviving global warming. these covers apparently found their way on to the president s desk. they got him very worked up about the media s hypocrisy. turns out the 1970s cover was a fake, part of an internet hoax that has circulated for years. joining me now is the author of this chief politico s white house correspondent shane goldmacker. you say a news story tucked into trump s hands at the right moment can torpedo an
nations should be. this was certainly something new we hadn t seen before. so that sense it was a surprise. if you look at the range that this system would have if it was flown on a normal trajectory, it would get something between 4500, 4600 kilometers. the only real target that that brings into range is the u.s. forces in guam. that doesn t concern me all that much because the accuracy is so low that i m not sure it could really target that very effectively. but what it does is it tells the united states that as we have seen in the past, north korea is continuing to develop the nuclear program, despite sanction asks having trouble getting international technology. i think we re learning here that if somethingen doesn t change, if there s not a way to freeze its program, it s on its way to. developing a long-range missile. you re seeing this as a data
point in the general development of the nuclear program. when you hear the threats then, it sounds like from north korea and the really what north korea is say iing you see that is hyperbole about how far this missile could go. it s worth keeping in mind that north korea has been able to hold south korea, u.s. forces in south creer at risk and also forces in japan. so it s certainly had a way to threaten both neighbors and the united states. on top of that, it seems to e me that the main significant of this is really seeing a step forward toward something longer. but this missile is still only about half the way to the u.s. west coast. i think the argument that it could carry heavy war haed is probably not true. that s probably bluster. so the jury is out on this. i really think the lesson of this is that the united states needs to find a way to sit down
was clearly visible. they said the wound was shattered. it was killing him. in my mind, it was murder. they let him suffer for 12 hours. they let him die a very slow death. it s not any way the way you should be treated. people in that house knew he was dying. when they knew death was eminent, they waited 42 minutes to call for help while they told people to clean up. cover up the evidence. get rid of it. this wasn t boys being boys. this was criminal activity. what has been the response to you guys from penn state officials? what have they said to you? i have had dialogue with the president of the college. but penn state has been fairly silent. no one came to the wake or the funeral. no one?
on, but there s really something to lock into that s real, it s tangible, and it can make a difference. smith was in and out of real consumas over a ten-year period on convictions including robbery, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a stolen vehicle. he says it was all fuelled by addiction, but he finally found help while out on probation. all the drugs, alcohol, cocaine. then i had an epiphany. went to a drug program. once i went there, they had introduced me to a new way of living. and since then, you know, it s just amazing to be able to walk around here where i used to be locked up at with the key, to be able to help someone else. so they say ron, you don t understand it. you don t understand what i m going through. i can say, wait a minute, i was here. i was in the same colored shirt as you was. and now i know what it takes to
