Iowa City police seek public's help finding missing teenager

Found: Police report missing teenager found and safe Hillary Ojeda, Iowa City Press-Citizen © Special to the Press-Citizen Police are searching for Zane Ormsby, 16, who was last known to be in the 900 Block of Willow St. at about noon Friday, April 9, 2021, in Iowa City. Update: Police announced Friday afternoon that the Iowa City teen reported missing earlier that day had been located. Just two hours before, the Iowa City Police Department were asking for the public s help in finding 16-year-old Zane Ormsby. Police said Ormsby was last known to be in the 900 Block of Willow Street at about noon on Friday, according to the first news release.

Found: Police report missing teenager found and safe Update: Police announced Friday afternoon that the Iowa City teen reported missing earlier that day had been located. Just two hours before, the Iowa City Police Department were asking for the public s help in finding 16-year-old Zane Ormsby. Police said Ormsby was last known to be in the 900 Block of Willow Street at about noon on Friday, according to the first news release.  He is believed to be on foot. He is 5’11 , 150 lbs., and was reported to be wearing dark jeans, a dark t-shirt, and a black hoodie sweatshirt, the release said.

Police charge Iowa City man with first-degree murder in fatal February shooting Hillary Ojeda, Iowa City Press-Citizen Iowa City police have arrested a man they say was present when a man was shot and killed on Feb. 12 inside an apartment on South Governor Street. Sammy I. Hamed, 22, of Iowa City faces a first-degree murder charge, according to a Monday news release from the police department. At 7:53 p.m. on Feb. 12, a caller reported to the Johnson County Emergency Communications Center that someone had been shot and killed during a robbery involving several people in an apartment in the 600 block of South Governor Street, according to the Iowa City Police complaint against Hamed.
