Acting responsibly
A local grocery store manager shook her head and expressed her frustration. âI wish people would not make such a big deal out of wearing a mask. We (she and her fellow workers) have to wear them eight hours a day. It shouldnât be so tough for customers to wear them for 15 minutes while theyâre in the store.â
Imagine for a minute you work in a hospital. Letâs say youâre a phlebotomist â you draw blood samples from patients. You receive an order to draw blood from an admitted patient. When you get to the patientâs room, there is a sign on the door: âIsolation.â The sign tells you the patient has, or may have, a potentially transmittable disease. The sign tells you to wear a mask before you enter the patient room.
