Veteran company director and Future Fund board member John Poynton said he can help restore Crown Resorts to its former glory, insisting he always acted in the interests of all shareholders and is not a puppet for fallen casino mogul James Packer.
In his first public comments since the release of a damning report that found Crown not suitable to operate Sydneyâs second casino, Mr Poynton, one of few directors spared scathing criticism by former NSW Supreme Court judge Patricia Bergin, SC, said he approached his appointment by Mr Packer in 2018 as being part of a solution to repairing Crown.

It’s going to be a very special day Saturday for a five-year-old boy in Cornwall.

“This is our (annual) Christmas event, but it will have to be different this time (because of the pandemic),” said Laurie-Jade Robinson, the club’s secretary-treasurer.
Logan, who has a rare heart condition known as dextrocardia, will be showered with gifts – the White Knucklerz always come through in a big way – but it will be a low-key gathering at the clubhouse at 527 A Pitt St. near the YourTV building.
