In fact, the legislature is moving in the opposite direction, by doing what it can to protect police from public scrutiny. On Monday, the Arizona House of Representatives passed HB2462 in a party-line vote that will now go to the governor’s desk.

Are You a 'Low-Quality' Voter? - The Good Men Project

Are You a ‘Low-Quality’ Voter? Republican officials no longer support democracy and they aren’t bothering to hide it. Hey, you, get away from those polling places! We don’t want your kind here! Scram! That’s a stupid, shameful, and ultimately self-defeating political message, yet it’s being pushed as the official anti-voter electoral strategy of Republicans. Admitting that they can’t get majorities to vote for their collection of corporate lackeys, conspiracy theorists, and bigoted old white guys, the GOP hierarchy’s great hope is to shove as many Democratic voters as possible out of our elections. They’re banking on a blitz of bureaucratic bills they’re now trying to ram through nearly every state legislature to intimidate, divert, and otherwise deny eligible voters their most fundamental democratic right. Their main targets are people of color, but they’re also pushing to keep students, senior citizens, union households, and poor communities of any color

Arizona Supreme Court hears case challenging legality of Invest in Ed proposition 208 04/21/2021 Appellate court justices met at the Arizona Supreme Court for the hearing Thursday Oct.17 (Hailey Rein/DD) The Arizona Supreme Court met to hear Karen Fann v. State of Arizona on Tuesday, regarding the constitutionality of Proposition 208, a ballot initiative passed in the 2020 General Election. Prop. 208 is a ballot measure that increases the highest income tax rate in the state of Arizona by 3.5%, and intends to put the revenue toward state education. Invest in Education, a key proponent of Prop. 208 campaign, estimated that hundreds of billions of dollars could be raised for K-12 education in Arizona if the initiative passed.
