I am very sad to see ron carlee not renew his contract and to say that he, you know, intends to leave the city. Reporter tonight, mayor Jennifer Roberts opened up to me about this letter from Charlotte City manager ron carlee announcing hes decided not to seek a contract extension. Thanksgiving afternoon. He has moved the city in so many, you know, different ways on gotten us through tough issues and have just been a great manager. North and wes of charlotte the last couple hours, didnt amount to much. The bigger batch is over central tennessee, northern alabama racing towards the carolinas, 250 miles off to our west. Temperatures as cold as they have been all day. Upper 20s to near 30 charlotte south, low 20s from i40 into the mountains where it is in the teens. The air is absolutely bone dry and will be a real battle going on between this dry air and the moisture coming in. A lot of it, now according to latest futurecast will be gobbled up before it reaches the ground. There is the risk of freezing rain for sure around the charlotte area through the morning drive but not necessarily a lot. The mountains, a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain first thing tomorrow morning. Tomorrow we could be dealing with serve weather. Meteorologist john ahrens is using charlottes most powerful radar to track it. Well see more downpours coming at us in waves the next wave, looks like it will come in our direction by about 9 00. Lets go to live Early Warning doppler 9 where it settled down in uptown charlotte. A little while ago, if you live north side up in Highland Creek in huntersville, it was coming down. Still moderate rains right now in rowan county over kannapolis with a pocket of heavy rain. This guy moved through Crowders Mountain. Heavy rain and wind at 25 miles an hour pushing into concord. The next destinations for this will be the communities of rock well and granite quarry, northern side of rich field and meisenheimer. This is getting ready to move into parts of earl and Kings Mountain will be next.
