entrepreneurial economy moving again. we have to get banks to make loans. paul: how do you do that? provide job environment. rereduce the tax burdens, not increasing the government burdens, speed up regulatory and permitting process. reduce the burdens on lawsuit abuse and reform. get students and workers of the future to be focused on skills and education that are relevant and rigorous. there is a lot of work to be done. those are some of them. paul: repeal the health care bill that passed last year. absolutely. number of things we can do to get into the specifics. repeal and fix with cost cutting in basis. the reforms i did in minnesota. go back and look at the financial institutions and fix the real problem which was fannie and freddie and the connections between cronyism between congress and fannie and freddie. tax program more pro-growth. paul: support tax cuts the way that david camp talking
anywhere from apple to delta airlines, to citigroup, across all the sectors are doing well but they are not hiring and that is because the recession has made them more cautious. they are not hiring and making do with less workers so the workers are certainly working more but in this job environment they don t want to raise a stink and now the unemployment rate, to give you an idea of where the rates stand, u.k., 7.9 percent, and germany 6.7 percent, and canada 7.6 percent. where is the unemployment for the united states, 9.4 percent. and the numbers are pretty accurate. shepard: you mention delta and that could be a good sign of what has happened. delta messaged with northwest, and cut down the routes and put more people on the planes, raised fees and fired employeeees and delta is doing great. but if you think the food on delta airlines flight is that
jon: if you re without a job, what do you say to people who have been out of work for six months or so? how do you keep the motivation going? there are a lot of things you can do. we do financial counseling with families. one big reason they get into financial trouble is because of the loss of a job. we end up talking this through with them a lot of times. this is not a job environment where you can afford to sit on the side lines, you ve got to do something. the other thing that s happening that is not showing up in the numbers, there is kind of a ghost affect out there. there are a lot of people out there earning money starting their own small businesses but continuing to collect the unemployment while they are doing that. so it s not affecting these numbers yet. we ll probably see a resurge skwrapbs of entrepreneur ism like we haven t seen in decades. a lot of people say to heck with
