KOTA BHARU (Feb 17): Pertubuhan Ikatan Guru-Guru Muslim Malaysia (iGuru), through its president Mohd Azizee Hasan, has today successfully asked the High Court here to reinstate the association s suit against the Education Minister and the Malaysian government regarding the existence of vernacular schools.
In a statement, Azizee s lawyer Datuk Shahrudin Ali confirmed the decision made by Justice Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh this morning.
“As a result, the case has now been fixed for further case management on Feb 28, following the Attorney-General s Chambers application to transfer this Kota Bharu vernacular case to a High Court judge in Kuala Lumpur,” he said, adding the originating summons by the association was initially struck off on Oct 25, 2020.
KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 8): The Malaysian government, through the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), had filed a RM68 million suit against Jho Low s right-hand man Eric Tan Kim Loong, a.k.a Fat Eric , seeking tax arrears from 2010 to 2013.
The application was filed at the KL High Court on Jan 15, 2021, where Tan is named as the sole defendant in documents sighted by theedgemarkets.com. His IC number in the suit matches the one on a police notice issued on him.
The case management of the case is due on Monday (tomorrow, Jan 8) and until press time neither Tan nor his lawyer has entered an appearance.

Jan 7: Kuala Lumpur City Hall civil engineering and urban transportation senior deputy director Sabudin Mohd Salleh, 58, is charged with accepting more than RM1 million in 2018. He faces six counts of receiving RM1.08 million to grant maintenance projects under his purview.
