Canadians are releasing all their feel-good endorphins by going shopping. Proof of this was seen recently when, thanks to the easing of pandemic restrictions in many cities across the country, long lineups of eager consumers waited patiently for hours to enter their favourite shopping spots, and finally getting their fill of, what some may say, was badly-needed retail therapy.

Quite simply – shopping made many Canadians feel whole again. And happy. New research shows Canadians are tapping into their inner shopper as a means of boosting their moods through non- essential spending that, not only makes them feel pretty awesome, but allows them to access feelings of confidence and satisfaction, all in demand thanks to the trying times the country has been living through.
