Ervin Eduardo Nafate Ruiz, 24, was named as the suspect after investigation.
He has been arrested on a warrant of first-degree murder. Ruiz was apprehended by the Poteau Police Department after the FSPD Communications Unit disseminated his information to other area law enforcement agencies.
The victim was Jessica Ann Chavez, 32, whom police found in her bedroom and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
