A Kapiti-based craft beer company’s popularity is on the rise thanks to their unique dessert themed beers, writes Uma Ahmed. Bourbon maple pancake, anyone? Milkshake IPAs? Oat cream hazy? Duncan’s Brewery has pioneered a niche style - ice-cream sour beer. “Since we started brewing ice cream sours, our business doubled,” says Duncan’s Brewery co-owner George Duncan. “They’re not sours for people who are like, hardcore sour drinkers. They’re for people who want something different but they don’t wanna have something like crazy acid.”
