With the recent retirement of Carroll Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief, Bob Shields, the Carroll City Council will be asked on Monday to approve adjustments for the department. The recommendation is to have Dan Hannasch take over the role of Assistant Chief as a Captain with Lt. Jeff Cullen being promoted to Captain, Brad Warnke from Training Officer to Lieutenant and Brady Vanderberg from Firefighter to Training Officer. The board will also consider acceptance of the substantial completion of the Graham Park Pickleball Court Complex and review a lease agreement with the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) for hosting of the 2021 1A and 2A baseball tournament. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, says they will also hold a couple of public hearings. The first for street restoration plans, but this is a little different than the normal street projects.
