Dan Kemp, a 2013 FPU graduate, has signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners organization.
After a season where Kemp landed on the All-Northeast-10 first-team and helped the Ravens reach the NCAA Division II College World Series, he went undrafted in the MLB first-year player draft.
But now Kemp joins four teammates from this spring to land in professional baseball and was assigned to the Mariners rookie-level, Appalachian League affiliate, the Pulaski Mariners.
Kemp was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 24th round after graduating from Tantasqua Regional High School in 2009, but did not come to terms with the team and kept his commitment to attend FPU.
