City, AWSD Credit Conservation Efforts As Water Supply Stabilizes The water shortages that impacted Hill County following the recent winter storm have improved as businesses and residents worked to conserve water and lines were repaired throughout the county. Hillsboro City Manager Megan Henderson said Thursday, February 25, that the city was no longer in a precarious water situation after the City Council held an emergency meeting Monday, February 22, and declared a water scarcity emergency in the city. Commercial laundry businesses and car washes were prohibited from operating through noon last Wednesday, February 24, and customers were asked to conserve water to address the issue.
