7 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday in Beaufort County, none in Jasper County

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported seven new COVID-19 cases in Beaufort County and none in Jasper County on Tuesday.
Beaufort County has now had 14,812 total confirmed cases and 191 deaths in the pandemic. DHEC says Jasper County has had 2,141 cases and 43 deaths.
The department reported 307 new cases and two deaths in South Carolina, bringing the totals to 479,940 cases and 8,309 deaths. It said 4.6 percent of the 9,163 COVID-19 tests reported Tuesday were positive.
DHEC said 73.9 percent of the state’s hospital beds are occupied, including 67.4 percent of intensive care unit beds. It said 488 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 126 in ICUs and 63 on ventilators.
