The Jasper County Grand Jury convened on Thursday and before the day was over had handed down several indictments charging individuals with various crimes.

The Jasper County Grand Jury convened on Thursday and, after hearing evidence as submitted by District Attorney Anne Pickle and her staff, handed down indictments on 11 people for 12 felony charges.
Interestingly, it is the first session by the Jasper County Grand Jury in many years without one single drug related indictment.
Dalton Paul Hinch, 22, of Vidor â January 2021 charge of murder. Hinch is accused of murdering Guadalupe Naranjo in his Shady Acres Subdivision home just southwest of Jasper.
David Waligorski, 37, of Vidor â June 2018 charge of indecency with a child/sexual contact. Waligorski is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a child younger than 17 years of age.
Jasper County Criminal District Attorney Anne Pickle says that if all goes as planned, she expects to soon take a man to trial who is accused of causing another manâs death.
In May of 2017, 22-year-old Jacob Hunter Gentry died in a Houston hospital about a week after he was involved in a disturbance. Kirbyville Police Chief Paul Brister said it happened in the 100 block of West Trout Street, and ended with Hunter being struck and ran over by a vehicle.
Brister said the argument between the two men was over a woman.
Since that time, the man who is accused of being at the wheel of the vehicle has been indicted by the Jasper County Grand Jury on two charges. Todd Ross Whitehead, 24, of Kirbyville, is charged with Manslaughter, and also Accident Causing Death.
