One might assume that a free house would move quickly, given how Vermont s residential real estate market has boomed since the start of the pandemic. According to the Vermont Association of Realtors, the average sales price for a single-family home in January 2021 was $314,949 more than 14 percent higher than in January 2020. But that early 2021 average reflected a slight cooling of the housing market since late last fall. In November, the average sales price for a single-family home was $352,537, more than 26 percent higher than the year before.

WEST WARWICK â The West Warwick Town Council met this week to appoint members to the Charter Review Commission, a board now tasked with sifting through and suggesting amendments to the document that guides the local officials in each of their decisions.Â
The West Warwick Home Rule Charter hasnât been reviewed since 2010 â the charter currently dictates that a commission be appointed to review it every 10 years â and Town Council President David Gosselin pointed out that there are a number of areas where updates are overdue.Â
The Town Council set to work early last year accepting applications for commission members who would be charged with recommending amendments for voters to consider during the November election.Â
