Filipino powerhouse OB x Neon Esports seized its third straight victory in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Season 2-Southeast Asia Upper Division after manhandling Lilgun of Mongolia, 2-0, on Wednesday, May 12.
Januel “Jaunuel” Arcilla’s position-5 Tiny set the tone for Neon’s signature unstoppable aggression in Game 1 that only lasted for 22 minutes and 36 seconds with a smashing 38-7 scoreline.
The versatile hard support put up 16 assists to go with seven kills against three deaths and enabled 11K MMR carry John Anthony “Natsumi” Vargas’ Bloodseeker and midlaner Japoy “Yopaj” Ferrer’s Puck to get kills one by one.

11K MMR carry John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas’ Medusa was just too much to handle for Boom in the opener before the Filipinos subdued the the Indonesians’ Morphling-Earthshaker-Beastmaster trio with Aghanim’s Scepter behind Japoy “Yopaj” Ferrer’s Puck in the second game.

Still hot off its Singapore Major campaign, OB x Neon Esports made short work of Singapore’s Team SOOS for a rousing start in the Asia Pacific Predator League on Tuesday, April 6.
Star carry John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas looked like he never skipped a beat despite missing the first Major of the year as he came through with a solid performance on his Bloodseeker.
Natsumi- was deemed “unfit to travel” to Singapore, forcing Neon to tap a stand-in in its former offlaner Rafael “Rappy” Sicat Palo who was eventually replaced by Singaporean player Yang “Deth” Wu Heng due to having “close contact” with a COVID-19 positive case.
OB x Neon Esports is well on its way to this year’s multi-million dollar The International.
Thanks to its solid performance in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Season 1 capped by a stellar finish in the ONE Esports Singapore Major, Neon went on a tie at No. 5 with Thunder Predator in the DPC rankings with 600 points.
Same with TI9, the top 12 teams in the DPC rankings will directly qualify to the most anticipated Dota 2 global tournament held annually (except last year’s edition which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
Neon collected 300 points after finishing second to Fnatic in the inaugural season of the DPC Southeast Asia upper division.
