Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) will host a virtual COVID-19 vaccine town hall on Zoom on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
McEachin will be joined by Del. Lashrecse Aird, Dr. Janice Underwood, Virginia’s Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, Dr. Danny Avula, Virginia’s vaccine coordinator, and Keith Hare, president of the Virginia Health Care Association.
People ages 75 to 84 are 220 times more likely to die if they contract COVID-19 than 20- to 30-year-olds, Dr. Danny Avula, state vaccine coordinator, said.

RICHMOND Governor Ralph Northam today announced the results of the Commonwealth’s disparity study, which demonstrate the need for narrowly tailored race- and gender-conscious measures to increase equitable opportunities for woman- and minority-owned businesses in state contracting. The outcomes of the study will guide the Northam Administration’s ongoing work with General Assembly leaders to increase supplier diversity and equity in the state procurement process. Chesapeake Regional Healthcare vaccinates people at highest risk for contracting COVID-19

CHESAPEAKE, Va. â Saturday, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare gave 1,100 COVID-19 vaccines to people in the Phase 1b vaccination group who are most at risk for contracting the virus.
Qualifying Chesapeake city employees, police, firefighters and Chesapeake residents at greatest risk were vaccinated at Saturday s event, which was held at The Mount Chesapeakeâs Signet Center at 884 Bells Mill Road.
A spokesperson for Chesapeake Regional told News 3 health officials vaccinated about 130 people per hour.
âWe want to increase access to the vaccine for those who take care of the citizens of our city as well as the communities who are at greatest risk of dying from the COVID-19 virus, said Reese Jackson, President & CEO of Chesapeake Regional Healthcare.
