Guns, Germs & Deals: A Report From the Tennessee Legislature

Tweet Photo: Eric England On two of the most hotly debated issues during the recently concluded session of the Tennessee General Assembly, two conservative Republican doctors stood on opposite sides.  When lawmakers debated whether institutions should be allowed to require the new COVID-19 vaccine, Rep. Bryan Terry of Murfreesboro was in favor of banning such requirements. Rep. Sabi Kumar of Springfield, meanwhile, cautioned his fellow Republicans.  “Public welfare is what we are here to do,” Kumar said during a March committee debate. “We are allowing our quest for liberty to interfere with public welfare. … I don’t think we should sacrifice anybody at the altar of our own personal liberty.”

Democrats pass bill making mandatory vaccinations ILLEGAL! YES You heard it right illegal! – Investment Watch

The House passed a bill prohibiting government-mandated vaccines for COVID-19 or any of its variants. As amended, the bill would also exempt PreK-12 students from  having to receive the vaccine in order to attend any schools or child care facilities. It would also strike the law that makes it a Class C misdemeanor for anyone who refuses to be vaccinated or refuses to vaccinate someone under their care. Furthermore, this bill would prohibit state government and agencies from mandating a person undergo medical treatment if they object based on religious grounds or their right of conscience. However, the bill wouldn’t protect college or university students enrolled in programs or fields of study involving healthcare professions such as medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy.

TN House passes bill banning government from requiring COVID-19 vaccine | 1011 The Beat

By FOX 17 Apr 22, 2021 The Tennessee House passed a bill preventing any local or state government from requiring citizens get the COVID-19 vaccine. House lawmakers passed HB0013/SB0187 on first consideration on Wednesday. It s sponsored by Rep. Bud Hulsey (R-Kingsport) and Sen. Janice Bowling (R-Tullahoma). While there s no requirement in Tennessee to get the COVID-19 vaccine - this piece of legislation would make sure it s illegal. The measure sparked heated debate, with some lawmakers calling the pressure to take the vaccine medical tyranny. “What gives a right to any of you to tell me what I have to inject in to my body? I’m sorry this is America we have some individual freedoms and liberties that the government does not have,” Rep. Bruce Griffey (R-Paris) said.
