A group of 10 moderate Republicans will meet with Joe Biden on Monday
The 10 want to discuss a counter to his $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package In the spirit of bipartisanship and unity, we have developed a COVID-19 relief framework that builds on prior COVID assistance laws, they wrote in a letter
The group, who will propose an alternative bill of $600 billion, includes Senators Mitt Romney of Utah, Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska
Senator Bernie Sanders, however, said it s more important to get a deal passed now to get relief to Americans rather than work in the spirit of bipartisanship
The hashtag #BidenLied exploded on Twitter over the weekend
It came after the Democratic Party posted a tweet outlining Biden s plan to distribute $1,400 stimulus checks, on top of the $600 already approved
Critics expressed outrage at the size of the forthcoming checks and claimed that Biden previously promised to deliver $2,000 checks
But in reality Biden never made that promise, instead saying that he would add on to the original $600 checks for a total of $2,000
